Mike Ingram – Activities

I started running when I became involved with public safety. We ran several miles a week when I joined the police department and while I was in rookie school. After transferring over to the fire department, I took a short break from running or exercising until I met up with some friends and we became interested in riding and running again.

I pretty much exercised to stay in shape for my job, and once I retired I really became involved with running. I became a mentor with Fleet Feet and have been running ever since.

I joined Twin City Track Club to meet new runners and run more. My favorite thing about running is the fellowship. I use my running as a way to relieve my everyday stress. Other than running, I like biking and just hanging out with friends and going to beach music concerts.

My family consists of a wife and two boys, Jon and Chris, and one grandson. My wife Teri and I have been married 38 years this year.

I retired in 2015 after 30 years in the fire service. I worked there full time along with working part-time with the medical service. I enjoy helping those in need. In fact, I was a volunteer firefighter before becoming a professional firefighter and enjoyed my career serving others.
