Passing the Torch, and the Spatula

The Twin City Track Club held its Annual Spring Picnic at Leinbach Park on May 1. The rain that fell in other parts of town skirted around the park as members gathered for a traditional cookout and potluck for the first time since 2019.

The picnic was organized by outgoing Activities Directors Colleen Sands and Hannah Boles (here’s to an amazing year of creative activities from this creative pair!), and elections were held for board members to serve for 2022-2023.

TCTC President Er Ralston spoke briefly on some of the accomplishments of the past year: Winston-Salem being named a Runner-Friendly Community, the Flyer transitioning to its new fully digital format and the club reaching 665 members (and counting), the highest number ever.

Er also thanked outgoing board members for their hard work and dedication: outgoing Activities Directors Colleen and Hannah, as well as outgoing Vice President Ashley Esleeck, outgoing Race Timing Manager Bill Gibbs and outgoing Webmaster Lionel Alva.

Coming onto the TCTC Board of Directors are new members:

  • John Anderson, Vice President
  • Dana Copeland Bishop, Webmaster
  • Jessica Cowart, Activities Director
  • Mike Ingram, Activities Director

Stay tuned for profiles of your new board members, coming in the July/August issue of the Flyer.
