Dana Copeland Bishop – Webmaster
Dana has lived in the Triad area since 1996. She graduated from UNC-Greensboro in 1994 and obtained both her master’s degrees in 2001 and another in 2015 from UNCG.
Dana grew up as an Air Force brat, having lived many places during her childhood, including Italy, Germany, Georgia, South Carolina and Florida. She was a competitive swimmer in middle and high school, but she didn’t start running until she was in her late 30s.
Her daughters played academy and classic level soccer and she ran during their practice times as a way to start getting back into shape. She ran her first 5K at 41 (Rotary Club 4th of July race in Kernersville).
To start, Dana was running about 3 miles at a time until she met a marathoner and her co-teacher for Sunday school at church. She started running longer distances with her new running buddy. Soon after that, she ran her first half marathon (Mistletoe) in 2013 and her first marathon (Marine Corp) in 2014. Dana most enjoys the 5K, 10K and half marathon distances.
Dana just became a member of TCTC this year and is looking forward to working as the Webmaster for TCTC.
Dana has two adult daughters. Jordan is 23 and a marketing coordinator for a law firm in Greensboro. Jacquelin is 19 and a rising sophomore at NC State with a major in business administration.
In addition to volunteering with TCTC, Dana enjoys dancing, music festivals and getting together with local foodie groups to try new cuisine.
