New Member Spotlight: Skylar Trivette

My name is: Skylar Trivette

To sum myself up in a nutshell: I like to call myself a stay at home-homeschool mom. I have 3 children, Eli (7), Zeke (5) and Ivy June (2).

And I’m originally from: All over! I’ve lived in High Point, Wilmington, Burlington, Pfafftown, Hickory and Mocksville.

I’ve been in Winston-Salem: I’ve been in the Winston Salem area for most of my life.

Became a TCTC member because: I always see you all on my long runs at Reynolda Gardens on Saturday mornings and I hope to push myself to become a faster runner and make more run friends!

Been a “runner” since: I ran cross country in high school although I wasn’t any good. My CC coach passed away and I love to run in his memory.

My motivation to run is: My babies and my husband! It keeps me mentally sharp and allows me to take a “break” which is necessary for me to be a better wife and mama! My 2 year old already loves to run with me around the house. I hope to encourage my children to do what they love and instill a healthy competitive spirit in them.

But when I’m not running, I enjoy: The beach and coffee! Our favorite places are Seabrook island, Wild Dunes, Amelia island and Bonita Springs. What is mom life without coffee?! We love Bobby Boy and Dough Joes and anywhere else that has homemade syrup!
