Salem Lake 2022 by the Numbers

After a spectacular sunrise, 386 runners made their way around Salem Lake (once or twice). We raised funds to support our charity partners, the Down Syndrome Association of Greater Winston-Salem and the Winston-Salem Street School. And a dedicated band of volunteers came together to keep things running smoothly. Not a bad way to spend a Saturday morning in September!

Here are a few numbers to capture a bit of the day’s achievements …

Amount raised for charity partners: $869 

Total Finishers: 386 (up from 375 in 2021)

30K: 102

Winners: Justin Pfruender and Alicia Rider

7-mille: 205 

Winners: Matthew Jordan-Steele (second year in a row!) and Mattie Harris

5K: 79

Winners: Tyler Mitchell and S. Welch (age 7!)

Volunteers: 30 from TCTC and additional volunteers from the Winston-Salem State University women’s cross country team, who ran three water stops.

Jonathan Estrada of Winter Park, Florida, was visiting the area and learned about the race. He decided to enter the 7-mile and got second in his age group.
