President’s Message – May/June 2023

For runners, the month of May is often associated with a transition from cooler dry weather to warmer humid weather.  It requires an adjustment in our clothing, nutrition and to some extent our mental approach to running.  Many running experts encourage us to Embrace the Heat to make us even better runners.

The month of May is also a transition time for Twin City Track Club.  Our annual May picnic is the occasion for electing our new board of directors for the coming year.  It was great to see so many of you at our picnic on May 7 to cast your vote and welcome the new board members.  As an all volunteer organization, we are grateful for the work of board members to keep our running club a thriving and successful club.

I want to take this opportunity to thank our retiring board members who have served you well over the past year or more:

Chris Tuohy – Past President
Flyer Editor – Sheri Masters
Dana Bishop – Webmaster

Thank you!

I also want to welcome our new board members:

Alicia Rider – Activities
Melissa Hobson – Membership
Payton Kilby – Flyer/Social Media/Marketing
Jim Aguilar – Member at Large

Welcome!

You can find a complete list of board members in this article about the club picnic.

Lastly, I respectfully transfer the president role to John Anderson who previously served in this role from 2008-2009.  John will do a great job leading the board.  The club is in great shape and our 750+ members have elected a very competent board to continue managing Twin City Track Club for continued success. It has been an honor to serve as president the last couple of years.

Happy Running!
