President’s Message

Keep Running, Keep Growing!

As we lace up our running shoes and embrace the spring season, I want to take a moment to celebrate this incredible community of runners. Whether you’re a seasoned marathoner preparing for Boston, a casual runner, or someone just starting, the Twin City Track Club is here to support and inspire you every step of the way. Running is more than just a sport—it’s a lifestyle that brings us together, challenges us, and fuels our passion for movement.

I’m thrilled to share that we have an exciting opportunity ahead! Our club is proud to partner with the CraftHalf Half Marathon & 5K, an event that brings together runners of all levels for a day of fun, camaraderie, and achievement. This partnership is a testament to our shared commitment to promoting health, fitness, and community engagement. Whether you’re aiming for a personal best or simply looking to enjoy the experience, this event promises to be a fantastic milestone in our running journey.  We will once again be providing pacers, bike support, and two water stations for the event.  If you’re not running that day, please consider volunteering at one of our water stations and cheering for all the athletes.  Who knows…you might even be the one to hand “the Mirnavator” a cup of water!

To make this event even more special, we are honored to welcome the inspirational Mirna Valerio as a guest speaker. Mirna, aka “the Mirnavator”, a celebrated ultra-runner, author, and advocate for body positivity in sports, will be sharing her incredible journey and motivating us to push beyond our perceived limits. Her message of perseverance and joy in movement resonates with all of us, and I encourage everyone to take advantage of this opportunity to hear her speak and feel the energy she brings.  Join Mirna for a shake-out run and yoga session Saturday morning, followed by her talk that evening, then run CraftHalf with her Sunday morning!  Get your tickets now:  https://runsignup.com/Race/NC/WinstonSalem/WinterSeminarTwinCityTrackClub

Remember, all ticket sales support Western NC Hurricane Helene Relief Efforts; specifically, BeLoved Asheville, who is working hard to provide safe and warm housing for those affected.

As we continue to train and prepare, I encourage each of you to set new goals, challenge yourselves, and most importantly, enjoy the run. The Twin City Track Club is more than just a club—it’s a family, and together, we can achieve greatness.

See you on the course!
