New Member Spotlight: Nick Rose

My name is: Nick Rose

To sum myself up in a nutshell: I completed my undergrad studies at Gettysburg College where I majored in mathematics, minored in economics and was a four-year member of the cross country and track & field teams. I am currently a grad student at Wake Forest getting my master’s in business analytics, with an expected graduation spring 2022. I hope to work as a sports analyst, similar to Moneyball!

I’m originally from: Meadville, a small town in northwest Pennsylvania about two hours north of Pittsburgh.

I’ve been in Winston-Salem: Since mid June 2021 for school.

I became a TCTC member because: I was looking for dedicated people to run with! This is my first year of not running in a team environment in a long time. The group meetups are lots of fun and the various race discounts make the membership fee pay for itself.

I’ve been a “runner” since:  Fourth grade cross country, 14 years and counting!

My motivation to run is: I am happiest when I am able to train. Running is often my favorite part of the day and I find my school work is best when I am training at my best. Being able to push yourself and set goals translates very well into life.

But when I’m not running, I enjoy: Taking time to recover with yoga, being active playing pickup games with friends or exploring the local mountain ranges on hikes.
