My name is: Michael Lamphier
To sum myself up in a nutshell: Husband of 26 years to Danielle, father of three boys, marketer, entrepreneur, generally curious about all things.
I’m originally from: North Carolina, but grew up in Delaware before returning to Wake Forest for college.
I’ve been in Winston-Salem: Since 1984
Became a TCTC member because: My legs still remember what it was like to run regularly, and it is a feeling I miss. Joining is one part of my return to running.
Been a “runner” since: Fits and starts through high school cross country and college, but really became a runner when I trained for and completed the 1995 Marine Corps Marathon. Fell off after that and back to fits and starts throughout the years.
My motivation to run is: The feeling I have right as I finish my run and start walking to warm down. It is a moment of personal victory each time.
But when I’m not running, I enjoy: Technology (particularly AI stuff), Disk Golf with my son, anything the Demon Deacons are doing (particularly watching baseball with my wife and youngest).
