New Member Spotlight: Michael Berger

My name is: Michael Berger, but everyone just calls me Berger!

To sum myself up in a nutshell: I am a biomedical engineer who loves to learn new things and stay active either by watching or playing sports.

I’m originally from: Calgary, Alberta, Canada, but have lived in the States most of my life.

I’ve been in Winston-Salem: Almost 4 years now and my wife and I absolutely love it!

Became a TCTC member because: My friends talked highly of all the great runs TCTC organizes and I wanted to try out the Hash Runs.

Been a “runner” since:  Taking it seriously for about a year and half (thank you to RLAF & Fleet Feet), but on and off again for the last decade. It’s hot down here in the South.

My motivation to run is: Long-term health both physically and mentally, and also the ability to just zone out on the treadmill with some music or a Liverpool game.

But when I’m not running, I enjoy: Watching soccer and trying out different breweries (Lesser Known is the best brewery in WSNC).
