What’s this article about Muddy Creek? What’s going on at Muddy creek? What’s with those pictures at the greenway?
The mystery of the paintings at Muddy Creek have been solved! There are 5 newly installed paintings at Jamison Park at the entrance of Muddy Creek Greenway that artist and teacher Amy Beth Cruz created. She was commissioned by Winston-Salem’s Public Art Commission for an immersive and interactive experience to teach about the native wildlife and ecosystems North Carolina has to offer. All this while adding a flare of physical activity with an associated asphalt artwork for children and playful adults alike.

As you traverse the greenway, take your time to ponder the beautiful place we call home. Find your balance with the Dekay’s Brown snake. Walk through the branches like a Black Bear. Build nests like the North Carolina Blue Bird. Find your own track like the white tailed deer. Or maybe just hopscotch across the state looking at the Turkey Tail Mushrooms.

The pictures really don’t do the art that Amy Beth Cruz created justice. So, take a moment to peer at the wondrous art during a $5k or casual stroll at Muddy Creek and give this artist some good ole Strava style kudos for putting the LIFE in wildLIFE!
