My name is: Brian Rudel

I’m originally from: Toronto, Ontario, although I’m a North Carolinian from the age of 2.

To sum myself up in a nutshell: I am a very competitive person who loves running. I’ve been married for 26 years to Sheri Rudel, whom I credit for introducing me to running.

I’ve been in Winston-Salem: Most of my life. Went to college at Wake Forest University, became an elementary school teacher and just never left town.

Became a TCTC member: A couple years ago, recently let my membership lapse, but am back in good standing now and looking forward to future runs and races.

Been a “runner” since: 2013 when I participated in my first No Boundaries Group at Fleet Feet. I was hooked.

My motivation to run is: Competition. I want to become as fast as I can, to finish well in my age group, and, oh yes, to stay fit and healthy.

But when I’m not running, I enjoy: Time with my wife Sheri, and boys—Connor, 21, and Mason, 19. I also enjoy a good game of Disc Golf, although I’m not very good at it.
