Hobby Trails to You! 5k and 10k were successful and very humid TCTC trail races this year. Fifty-five runners from ages 11 to 70 grappled with rocks and roots of the twisting trails at Hobby Park. For the tenth anniversary, this year ranks up there as one of the most uncomfortable. According to AI, “On August 8, 2026, the dew point in Winston-Salem, North Carolina ranged from a low of 66 °F to a high of 73 °F, creating a very humid and muggy atmosphere with an average relative humidity around 81%.” It all makes sense knowing that. Finishing any race offers a sense of accomplishment. Factor in harsh weather conditions or tricky terrain; Hobby Trails to You! had both (at least there’s plenty of shade). If you have continued to train outdoors, in this area this summer, kudos and happy trails to you! Stay strong, hydrated and hungry for more and we hope to see you out there for year 11.
