Each year, Twin City Track Club chooses two local nonprofits that fit with our mission to promote fitness and health, and improve the quality of life for individuals and families. They are our official Charity Partners for the race.

A portion of event proceeds from the Beat the Heat race—along with donations from runners—go toward each of our chosen nonprofit charities. For the 2022 race, we chose to partner with Ainsley’s Angels in the Triad and LEAD Girls of North Carolina.

This year, through the generosity of the Triad running community, we are able to donate  $4,330.48 to Ainsley’s Angels and $3,998.48 to Lead Girls of North Carolina.

A bit about our partners

Through endurance events and road races just like Beat the Heat, Ainsley’s Angels in the Triad promotes teamwork, fitness and inclusion by pairing an able-bodied runner with a special needs athlete rider. Donated funds are used to purchase specialized racing chairs to service a rapidly expanding athlete rider base.

Learning Everyday Accomplishing Dreams (LEAD) is dedicated to providing tools and resources to enable low-income/at-risk preteen girls to become productive citizens and active leaders in their communities. LEAD encourages and mentors girls to aspire and achieve greatness—academically, emotionally and creatively.
