Raindrops were falling as Twin City Track Club members gathered at Leinbach Park for the Spring Picnic and Annual Meeting. But the weather decided to be kind, and the burgers and dogs were saved from a soggy end. Copious amounts food—no wonder we all like to run, with a feast like that!—were brought and shared and small groups gathered around the shelter, catching up with old friends and meeting some new ones.
Dinner was served and the short business meeting commenced. Er Ralston, our past president and current webmaster, gave an update on the club. With more than 700 members, we are at an all-time high—a great opportunity and challenge to see how we can engage such a large and diverse group. Stay tuned for more on that. He also thanked our volunteers, especially three volunteers who, although they are not current board members, go above and beyond in serving the Winston-Salem running community: Chris Cutler, Warren Allen (the birthday boy!) and Bill Gibbs.
He bid farewell to board members rotating off and introduced the new roster for a club vote. The new board was unanimously approved (did Er ask for a nay?).
The new board is as follows (new members in bold type):
